Hello,
I have followed all the steps to be able to capture ADC raw data using the IWR6843 radar along with the DCA1000. My question is: What does the ADC raw data represent? Is it just the received wave? is it a mixing of the transmitted and received wave? is it something else?
Thank you.
Hi Emmanuel,
The raw ADC data is the received wave. Please see our training videos for help with mmWave Radar.

You can find information on the raw data format in the DCA1000 User Guide.

Hello,
if the ADC data is the received wave, then how can I get information about the transmitted wave so that I can do some analysis of FMCW radars mentioned in the video?
Thanks.
The transmitted wave is reflected back and captured by the Rx antennas.

Okay, but the training video mentions the IF signal which is the mix of the transmitted and reflected wave after some filtering right? In one of the schematics of the video, it shows the mixing and said mixing is digitalized into ADC data. This applies for the iwr6843 and the dca1000? and if it just the pure signal from the RX antennas, then how can I get the IF signal? Sorry for so many questions.
Thank you.
Hi Emmanuel,
Please refer to the training videos and the DCA1000 users guide for help with raw data capture and formatting. mmWave Studio and the DCA1000 are the supported solutions for raw data capture and post processing with the IWR6843 boards.
