Hi,

I am having a similar issue as the problem described in here. I have flashed the AOP demo mentioned in that thread but when I try to run the AOP demo visualizer, the data port never connects as it is waiting for data (image below).

The problem might be that I removed the breakaway board so I am only using the radar part. Does the demo work correctly even without the breakaway board?

Also, I have tried flashing the area_scan demo (AOP binary) and running the MATLAB demo. It work once and after few seconds the demo stopped, the metal part was really hot. After that, every time I try to run the demo, a timout warning appears when sending the configuration parameters to the board.

What could I do to run the demo?

Just to chime in, that we have similar issue and we have an intact board. So, I have flashed the board with both of the binaries and tried for each its corresponding visualizer, but to no avail. No connection with the board, although the COM ports are there.

Hi,

Can you confirm if you get any printout when you connect to tera term?
What SDK version and binary are you using?

Hi Charles,

I have tried using both the "xwr64xxAOP_mmw_demo.bin" from the mmwave_sdk_03_02_00_06_AOP and the "area_scanner_68xxAOP_lab.bin" from the mmwave_industrial_toolbox_3_6_2 with no luck.

Nothing is displayed on tera term (I used the Enhanced COM port at 115200 baud rate). However, I tried the same with a working AWR1843BOOST with the mmWave SDK and nothing appears when I turn the power on. It only displays the text when I press the RESET button on the board.

Unfortunately, as I mentioned in my initial post, I removed the breakaway part from my IWR6843AOPEVM board, so I cannot use the reset button that is located on the breakaway board.
