Hi,

I would like to save the raw Data in real time. I have seen using the out of box, read i can save raw data from the memory browser, then somehow make it work through the capture demo.

But what i want is to save the raw data as i recieve it through the UART. Justin curewitz tried to explain, how it goes but i just have no idea how to detect the start and last bit of the data packet.

It would be great, if you could suggest a code to do that.

Hi Patrick,

We do not support getting raw ADC data over UART. You will need to use the DCA1000EVM and MMWAVE-STUDIO along with the IWR1443BOOST EVM to capture raw ADC data. Note that the data is captured by the DCA1000EVM in real-time for the specified number of frames but transferred to the PC over Ethernet only when the capture is completed.

The capture demo was part of very old mmWave SDKs (up to 1.1.0.2) and has been removed from SDKs releases after that. IWR1443 production devices (ES 3.0) are compatible only with MMWAVE-SDK 2.1.0.4. SDK 1.1.0.2 and the capture demo included in that is not compatible with the IWR1443 production devices.

The capture demo has been replaced with the mem_capture test in SDK 2.1.0.4 which is available under C:\ti\mmwave_sdk_02_01_00_04\packages\ti\drivers\test\mem_capture. You can use this to do one shot data captures in L3SRAM as documented in the SDK 2.1.0.4 user guide under section 5.4.11.2 "Basic configuration of Front end and capturing ADC data in L3 memory"

Hi Nitin,

I already knew about the DCA100EVM and MMWAVE-SUDIO but it wouldn't solve my problem of getting the data in real time.

where justin from TI gives a way to do just that. But i can't find the function he is talking about because as you stated the capture demo has been replaced alongside with the the dss file he is talking about, which should contain a dss_main.c function in the new sdk functions.
