LDC1614: MSB and LSB reading

Part Number: LDC1614
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1314,

Hello TI team,

I am currently using an LDC1314 to measure four inductances. For my application, I need high speed (which I already achieved through I2C) and high resolution (which I am able to partially atain by shifting the LDC result by 4 bits).

I was however wondering if it would be possible to profit from the LDC1614s high resolution. I will probably not need the MSB value of each channel (they probably do not change in my case), and thus would be interested only in the LSB values. Discarding / not reading the MSB would allow me to still have high frequency measurements.

Is there anyway to 'rapidly discard' the MSB values of the LDC1614 DATA channels and only keep the LSB ? I am asking for some kind of work around, as I am aware, that according to the datasheet, one has to first query the MSB.

Thank you very much,

Patricio
