IWR6843AOPEVM: Direct connection to DCA1000EVM to receive ADC data

I read IWR6843AOPEVM FAQ, used forum search and read the information in following documents:

But still could not find direct answer to question I have.

Can one connect IWR6843AOPEVM directly to DCA1000EVM to receive ADC data using mmWave Studio? Or is MMWAVEICBOOST carrier board necessary?

From all the information I read before making the purchase and specifically https://e2e.ti.com/support/sensors/f/1023/t/879799 I had the impression, that I can. Now, when I'm past the stage of evaluating point cloud data and studying documentation more deeply, I'm not so sure.
