IWR6843ISK-ODS: rada signal processing on MTI

Part Number: IWR6843ISK-ODS

Hello, the engineers of TI!

After using the IWR6843ISK-ODS to get some datas, I did the following steps of data processing:

First, a FFT algorithm is used for matching filtering.

Second, a MTI algorithm is used for removing the static clutter, and MTI algorithm is realized by subtracting adjacent pulses.

The problem is that after MTI, some bright lines would appear in the time-distance image, and the gap of the adjacent bright lines was a constant, and the constant is the same as the number of cycles per frame set in the acquisition software(MMwave studio).

  • HI, there:

Please provide details about your algorithm.  I am not familiar with the terminology you used in step1 and step2.

    Best,

    Zigang

  • Hello, I have sorted out the detailed processing process into a document and put it in the attachment, please note to check.

  • HI,

Thanks for your documentation.   What I can think of it that after all the chirps being sent in a frame, there is a quiet time before the next frame starts.

Note that each chirp is about 150us long (100us chirping time + 50us idle time), then you have total 129*3 chirps, so the total active chirping time is about 58ms.  But your frame duration is 100ms.  So there is about 42ms idle time between two neighboring frames.

That will make a difference in your algorithm.

    Best,

    Zigang
