IWR6843AOP: Out of box demo does not start

Hi,

I have recently bought IWR6843AOP chip:

We have tested that Out of Box demo for IWR6843AOPEVM 2.0 works as expected and after applying the same code to the custom board with the chip specified above, I was not able to produce the same working results. The code crashes after it tries to talk with the chip and the hardware itself (custom one) works as expected (we can debug using XDS, UART and etc.). This behaviour occurs using mmWave SDK 3.4 and Industrial Toolbox 4.4.0

We have also tried to do the same with SDK 3.5 and Toolbox 4.5.1, it did not crash but we were not able to see any results as the GUI for mmwave radar does not support SDK 3.5

The exact part name of the chip is XI6843ARQGALP

Hi,

what is the input power supply specification? 5V, 3A is recommended.

Are you suggesting that 15W is a recommended power? I think the radar will blow up under such extreme conditions.

We are supplying 5V. We have tested the same code under SDK 3.5 and it worked, I could not find a single document where TI specified that those radar chips can only operate under SDK 3.5.
