Hi team,

I wanted to check the chirp qualitz metrics of AWR 2243 board but despite seting the DATA config packet0 to CP_ADC_CQ I always get error when I plot the CQ metrics. What could be wrong here.

Thank you for the quick information.

I tried both the solutions in the link provided namelz>

* Enabling Advance RX monitors > Chirp

* I currently use AWR 2243 with mmWave studio version 3.0.0.14 So the post processing I assumed is fixed.

The error states that the number of valid CQ words is zero. I dont understand whz. Kindly help here.

Try using the "CQ_CP_ADC" setting for packet 0. You can refer to the attached images below.

Mohan,

The two options for the CQ metrics that I am able to view are:

"CQ metrics - ADC/IF Saturation Indicator"
"CQ metrics - DFE Energy Monitor"

Try looking at those drop-down options in the Post Processing tool.

Hi kyle,

I did try them last time and got a message stating the vaild CQ words to be zero. That is why i put it on the forum.

Anyway I will retry this again one more time and hope this works.

I shall revert back once I have tried it out again.

Mohan,

No additional steps were needed when enabling the CQ data on my end. I just needed to make sure "Packet 0" was set to "CQ_CP_ADC". Otherwise, I followed the steps I would normally use for configuring the AWR2243BOOST to capture data with the DCA1000EVM. I am not sure why you are having issues. I did not need to enable the advanced RX monitors per your earlier post on this thread.

I will keep an eye out for further responses from you.

Hello Kyle,

I think I figured out why I am getting this CQ word error. I set the data config packet 0 as "CQ_CP_ADC" and not as "CQ_CP_ADC".

If I set it as "CQ_CP_ADC" then i get an error as shown in the pic below.

but if i set it as CP_ADC_CQ it got passed and hence I took this as the working setting ( find figure below)

Can you let me know what has to be done to rectify this error of not a valid value.

Also this post uses the CP_ADC_CQ configuration in data config settings tab so I also followed the same.

Mohan,

The only other possibility to consider is a mismatched firmware for your device. mmWave Studio v3.0.0.14 provides MSS and BSS firmware for both ES 1.0 and ES 1.1 devices. You will need to confirm which device is your and selecting the corresponding firmware.

The firmware is located in this folder directory:

C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\rf_eval_firmware

mmWave Studio will indicate which silicon revision is on your AWR2243BOOST EVM. This will be located on the "Die Id" line in the "Connection" tab.

The LVDS configuration you need to enable the plots you are looking for has to be the "CQ_CP_ADC" option for Packet 0.

The board i have is AWR 2243 ES1.0 (refer pic below) and I also use the firmware 1.0. I still dont get why I get the error for

"CQ_CP_ADC" option for Packet 0.

Mohan,

Please make sure to load the BSS and MSS firmware patches. This step (3) and step (4) in the "Connection" tab.

These firmware images are located in this file directory:

C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\rf_eval_firmware\AWR2243_ES1_0

This might be what is causing your issue. The BSS and MSS patch descriptions list as "NA" in your screenshot so this is what I'm thinking is happening.

Hello Kyle,

I think I have finally figured out the issue.

I tried serveral times to load the firmware version ''C:\ti\mmwave_studio_03_00_00_14\rf_eval_firmware\AWR2243_ES1_0\radarss\xwr22xx_radarss.bin'' and still in BSS iget the patch version as NA.

Ithink that is the error and hence Im getting this word not valid error.

Is there a solution for the firmware not loading issue.

Looking forward to your comments about the firmware loading issue.

I have attached the screenshot for referance where you can see the ES version in the firmware and the hardware matches and also the path of the firmware image file.
