Hi mmWave Team,

Is the load switch necessary/recommended for delaying 3V3 to IWR6483AoP module?

There are different statements listed about that:

A) According to the FAQs, the load switch isn't necessary (as long as all supplies are stable before NRST is deasserted)

Q1. Power Supply related queries:
a. What is the Wakeup/Powering sequence of the supplies in the device?
All supplies come from the PMIC without any intervention from the device, so no specific sequence is required as such; users have to just ensure that all supplies are stable before NRST is deasserted.

B) But, according to reference design PROC073C and the “HardwareDesignChecklist_V0p8_IWR6843.xlsx | DC Power & Decoupling” the load switch is mandatory:

I just wonderd. Is a load switch necessary/recommended? Is there anything else I should consider in this regard?

Hello Ruben,

On the EVM power could be coming from multiple sources, depending upon EVM configurations. We need to ensure all the power supplies are available before nReset is released. To ensure this operation when it's operated from multiple boards load switch is used.

If above condition is met then load switch is not a mandatory/necessary requirement.
