I ran the 68xx_traffic_monitoring test with the following settings.....

But I am getting the following error:

I downloaded and tested the firmware in the morning.
I checked that traffic_monitoring is working properly.

I downloaded the firmware for CCS debugging from dev.ti.com/.../using_ccs_debug.html in the afternoon.

In the process, the Connect Target got an error (make sure there is no debugger) and I tried to download and run the traffic_monitoring firmware again, but the error occurred.

Same setup, but I don't know why.
Just in case. I thought I should downgrade the XDS110 like 3D People Counting.
To avoid packet loss, users downgrade the carrier card's XDS110 firmware to version 2.3.0.18.

I still get an error..
I did well until morning, but I don't know if it's a board problem or what's wrong.

Also, when connecting the IWR6843 to MMWAVEICEBOOST to download the firmware, an error occurs while opening the download COMPORT of the specific firmware.

It works well when testing with IWR6843ISK without connecting MMWAVEICEBOOST..

Hello,

For connecting Antenna modules on the MMWAVEICBOOST board, dip switches on the Antenna modules need to be updated as shown in the below training view.

Does this happen because the port remains open even if canceled after CCS debugging?

Hello,

Yes, If the port is held by any other application, this problem could happen, It need to be relinquished, otherwise port will be blocked.

When the traffic_monitoring program is terminated, the port is sometimes not closed, and the port is blocked when rerun. I will test it with reference.

At the end of the traffic_monitoring program I noticed the symptom that the port was open sometimes.

This also affects the board, so the ports appear to persist even when the board is powered off and back on. (DS2 LED is Faintly on)

After rerunning the traffic_monitoring program and trying to connect to the port, a connection failure occurred, and at the end of the program, the DS2 LED was turned off and the port was closed.

Because of this, I couldn't figure out what kind of problem the port was keeping open.

Please refer to the test when testing.

Even if IWR6843ISK is disconnected and the firmware is formatted, the green light of D9 of IWR6843ISK is on.

Communication does not work even though IWR6843ISK's firmware is formatted, mounted and connected. (DS2 LED is Faintly on)

There seems to be a problem with the MMWAVEICEBOOST or IWR6843ISK board.

Oh, this is a DS2 LED, not a D9 LED.

Its unclear what the exact problem is and what LED you are referring to on what board. Can you please provide some more explanation and clarity on the issue you are trying to resolve on the hardware?

The picture is only connected to a PC and is not in communication.

1.Even if IWR6843ISK is disconnected and the firmware is formatted, the green light of D7 of IWR6843ISK is Faintly on.

2.Communication does not work even though IWR6843ISK's firmware is formatted, MMWAVEICEBOOST is mounted and connected. (MMWAVEICEBOOST DS2 LED is Faintly on)

3.If you try to connect the communication again after disconnecting and reconnecting the power adapter, the communication connection is made in probability.

4. As shown in the figure, if you set S1 of the BOOST board and jump SOP0 and SOP2 to download the firmware (turn off the power and reconnect), downloading is not possible.
In case of S1 firmware download setting (S1.1, S1.3, S1.4 ON, rest of OFF) of IWR6843ISK board by separating only IWR6843ISK board, downloading is normal.

5.When IWR6843 + BOOST is connected, FTDI USB connection, XDS110 USB connection and power adapter (5V 3A) are connected, and when People_Counting_GUI is executed, XDS110 connector is activated but communication is not possible.

I've been trying for 2 weeks to see if I've set it wrong.
I can't figure out what the problem is...

Does the demo work fine when you run in modular mode without the MMWAVEICBOOST connected
Can you confirm the revision of the MMWAVEICBOOST, you should find a label on the PCB behind the ISK Placement, something like PROC074x
After disconnecting and reconnecting the power, are you need to hit the reset button to ensure the device latches to the right SOP Mode, can you try this?

To run Out of the box demo, I delete the existing 68xx_Sense_and_Direct_HVAC_Control firmware and download the 68xx_mmwave_sdk_dsp firmware. At first, it downloads fine, but when I download another type of firmware (68xx_Sense_and_Direct_HVAC_Control), the download fails.

Firmware download and execution in modular mode without connecting MMWAVEICBOOST is very good.

With IWR6843ISK modular mode, firmware downloads and runs very well no matter what.

MMWAVEICBOOST PROC074B-001 (001 seems to be handwritten.)

The connection continues to fail even if you press the reset button after disconnecting and reconnecting the power after symptoms appear.

If you try to connect by repeatedly disconnecting and reconnecting the power, it will be connected once by chance.

Are there any other attempts I can try?

Hi,

Since the IWR6843ISK works in modular mode the issue is most likely with the mmwaveicboost. Do you have a different mmwaveicboost to confirm this?

Can you reach out TI sales support for replacement of the mmwaveicboost?

When I buy IWR6843ISK and MMWAVEICBOOST, I only buy 1 of each, so there is no board of other existence ..

Let me contact TI sales support for MMWAVEICBOOST replacement...

Hi,

It appears that I have a very similar situation at hands. I have recently started working on combination of IWR6843ISK-ODS and MMWAVEICBOOST. Just like Yoon Jeongwon, I have tried to flash the IWR6843ISK-ODS EVM attached to the MMWAVEICBOOST board but am unable to flash the device. I have checked my headers and switches multiple times and am pretty certain they are in correct positions. I supply power to the board through the barrel jack from a 5A capable lab PSU set to 5V and the device is connected to my PC via the supplied USB cable (Multiple USB ports tested, no difference).

I have the following SW tool versions installed on my PC:

My MMWAVEICBOOST revision is PROC074B-001

Here is a picture of my setup:

As whit Yoon, I'm unable to flash using the MMWAVEICBOOST module but using only the IWR6843ISK-ODS EVM in standalone configuration works without issues, so the problem lies with the MMWAVEICBOOST module.

Upon connecting, two COM ports show up in device manager:

Starting UniFlash yields the following result:

MMWAVEICBOOST is detected correctly but pressing start in the Detetcted Devices section doesn't do anything, however manually choosing IWR6843ISK (ODS version not available for selection?) works.

Next I set port to COM4 as per instructions:

And next I choose the FW file and try to program:

Now this is where things totally fail when following instructions. If I at this point follow the orders and press the physical reset button, subsequent programming would initially always fail.

The process would freeze at "Opening COM to COM4" and after a while display this error (or freeze permanently)

However, after repeating this many times, I found out that it does work sometimes. Initially I got it working by skipping the reset press and just powering on the board and programming. To my surprise, it worked once. After further experimentation, I've been able to program the device multiple times in a row sometimes with reset press, sometimes not. However sometime it just fails. Flashing with this setup is not consistent and that makes using the devkit annoying in the least and impossible on the worst.

I suspect that there is some issue with this revision of the MMWAVEICBOOST module as my revisions matches Yoon's and we have similar issues produced by the same procedure. Either there is some issue with the reset/ boot sequence or the instructions provided are somehow inadequate.
