I also encountered OPT3004 IR rejection issue in my project. My IR source is 850nm. The defected OPT3004 readout is 114lux, otherwise the functional OPT3004 is 7lux. If I insert insert a IR filter in front of the OPT3004, the readout will decrease to 2lux. What the variance of IR rejection on OPT3004?

Hi Darren,

OPT3004 IR response is not expected to greatly exceed the typical spec of 0.2% response. You can see datasheet plot below is normalized to the peak response (around 550nm). Taking the response at 850nm divided by the peak response will give this percentage shown in the datasheet spec. Another way to check this is if you can provide some info on the test setup and IR power level exposed to the good and bad OPT3004, then we can check if this variation is within spec.

Hi Alex,

My test setup is
- 6xIR LED, 850nm, total 1.5W 850nm
- IR beam angle =60D
- IR incident angle is vertical to OPT3004.
