AWR1843: SOP1 pin unconnected

Hi, we have a custom board based on AWR1843 but by mistake we left the SOP1 pin unconnected, could this be a risk?, we have an strange bahavior when flashing the labs, some runs ok but other ones not, we dont see anything in the GUI

In this path ti\mmwave_sdk_03_05_00_04\firmware\radarss are located the firmware BIN to load the radar front end config for the awr1843 (as I understand), but I dont know when is necessary to flash this BIN, could this be the issue too?

Hello Jairo,

SOP 1 needs to be pulled to GND via 10K resister while flashing as mentioned in the hardware checklist xls. Regarding the strange behavior, could you explain about it a little more?

Do you think the SOP1 could be the cause of this behavior?, and what about the firmware upgrade?, when should I do this?

Hello Jairo,

Keeping SOP1 floating could cause the device to bootup in a different mode and prevent the internal application execution. Hence you might see the issue you have described in the other e2e thread.
