AWR1843: Can you explain the detected objects on the MRRVisualizer in lab00007_mrr?

Could you please help me to understand the detected objects on the MRRVisualizer in lab00007_mrr?

Is there a document can explain the detected objects on MRRVisualizer in lab00007_mrr?

I use AWR1843Boost board to test lab00007_mrr, both MRR and USRR detections are enabled. The board detects MRR object well, but it seems the board mis-detects the USRR object sometime. For example, the Visualizer shows some blue dots (in red circle), but there are no any objects in the reality. Can you tell me what causes these nonexistent USRR objects are detected?

 Thanks

  • Hi,

Most likely the USRR detected points are reflections from the ground

    Thank you

  • Can we reduce these USRR detection mistake by tuning the configuration parameters?

  • Hi,

Do you need the USRR detection? If not, you can use the MRR mode configuration which only runs with MRR subframes. So there would not be any detections from USRR.

If you need both MRR and USRR than it is much more difficult to remove the ground reflections. One way is to use the elevation information from the detecting points.

    Thank you

  • Yes. we need USRR detection becasue the Azimuth range of USRR is much larger than MRR.

Thanks. Using elevation information is a good idea. But the elevation information displayed for the "ground reflections" showed it above the ground, about 2 m.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

It is also possible that some of the USRR detections are due to multipath reflections. It is difficult to say

You should also move the position of the sensor by modifying the slope. Usually when we debug we try to move the sensor and check if the detections disappear.

    thank you
