CD74HC4067: PIN 1 OUTPUT STATUS

Part Number: CD74HC4067

CD74HC4067M is used in our design and I need to know the output level of Pin 1
I am giving inputs on pins A,B, C & D, and depending on that one of the OUT is going low. so my question is when will I get pin 1 High or low? The reason why I am looking for this information is I am using that as DI to the Computer as feedback of card selection.

  • Hey Deep,

I'm not sure if there is a misunderstanding here on the functionality of the device.

Pin 1 is the common I/O pin (IN in the schematic). This will connect to any one of the 16 I/O pins (OUT 0-15 in the schematic). The S0-S3 (A,B,C,D in schematic) are inputs that will determine which connection will be made to Pin 1 based on the below truth table. S0-S3 will register high and low based on the VIH/VIL levels in the datasheet (see FAQ on VIH/VIL) This device is a passive device that will simply allow for a signal to be passed through, it will not drive any signal. The output level of Pin 1 will be strictly dependent on what is on the signal path that is selected based on S0-S3.

    Thanks,
    Rami

  • HI Rami,

This is what I expected from Data sheet but somehow I am getting low voltage level on Pin 1 all the time Regardless of status of OUT1-16.

    Thanks,

    Deep

  • Hey Deep,

Could you toggle the enable pin and see what Pin 1 shows?
It's not clear on the schematic but what are the input and outputs connected to?

    Thanks,
    Rami
