Hope you are doing well!

For our TMUX1308-Q1, my customer has some questions:

Will there be a diode between D and Sx Pin in TMUX1308?

What kind of switch is inside (what type of semiconductor device? How is it connected?)?

Is there a parasitic diode when the address is not strobed? Is there a parasitic diode when not enabled?

Hey Jeff,

There is no diode connecting Sx and D. This device (and all our analog muxes) are passive bi-directional devices. They do not drive a signal and just act as a passive pass-through path from Sx to Dx. A diode would short this path and always leave it connected in one direction.

This device has a transmission gate architecture which is just two FETs, one N-channel and one P-channel, in parallel. Please see [FAQ] What are the Types of Architectures TI Switches and Multiplexers Use and how do I know which one my device has internally? for more information on this.

There isn't a parasitic diode when the device is not enable or when a specific channel isn't selected. There will be some leakage and some parasitic capacitance that are noted in the datasheet however.
