TMUX131: example for LVDS peripheral commponents

Part Number: TMUX131

I have LVDS signals at 900MHz.  Can you recommend me how to use TMUX131in order to connect loopback between 3 tx (LVDS) to 1 RX (LVDS)?

  • Hi Lioz,

Looks like you picked a good part for this application. Plenty of bandwidth and appropriate supply voltage capabilities. I'm no expert in designing with LVDS, but you would want to connect your tx lines to the inputs of the mux - in this case something like S1A, S2A and S1B. The rx line would tie to your output, D1. SEL lines would be connected to two 1.8V logic signals that control the switch state. I know that LVDS typically requires termination resistors of about 100-120 ohms across the differential pairs of tx and rx signals as well so that is also something to note.

Hope this helps! If you have a block diagram of your application then I can possibly provide more insight here, but from a high level this is the typical implementation of LVDS with one of our switches.

As an additional bit of info, we have a selection guide for LVDS which may provide a bit more insight into LVDS functionality.

    Regards,

    Alex
