LM5156-Q1: LM5156QDSSRQ1 SEPIC Circuit Analysis Support

Part Number: LM5156-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello,

I have a design query that I need support with.

I'm using a LM5156QDSSRQ1 Voltage Regulator in a SEPIC Circuit.

we are observing an overheating SEPIC Inductor and an unexpected AC signal on the Voltage Regulator MOSFET output.

I have attached some documentation for support.

I look forward to your reply, please let me know if use need further information.

Many Thanks,

Neil

  • Hi Neil,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The ripple you see on the switchnode is normal behavior for DCM. It comes from the FETs parasitic capacitance resonating with the inductor.

Can you please send the whole schematic including specs? (Vin Vout, Iout)

Also please send scopeshots of Vin, Vout, switchnode and CS pin.

    Best regards

    Moritz
