TMUX131: Looking for component breakout

Part Number: TMUX131
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX136, TMUX1309A, TS5A3357

Tool/software:

I'm doing some development test and would like to break out the TMUX131. I was unable to find an evaluation board, so I'm wondering if you have an RGM breakout board that would fit this part?

  • Hi John

We currently do not have a breakout board for this device available now

However our team is working on a evm that should release in the near future  to address this issue.

Please look forward to this being online in the future.

In the meantime you could evaluate another device with similar performance to the TMUX131 called the TMUX136( There is a breakout board for this device online)

Please let me know if you need any more help.

    Regards,

    Kameron

  • Thank you Kameron,

Unfortunately, the TMUX136 will not work for my application as I'll be using a 5V power rail in my system.

I'll likely move forward with dead-bugging the TMUX131 for evaluation if I cannot find a breakout board somewhere else.

  • Hi John sounds good

just one more question from my end

you said you will be using the tmux131 at 5v supply?

while you could do this it is actually outside the recommended operating conditions of the mux

is the 6.5Ghz  bandwidth  of the tmux131 needed in your application?

if not you could also use 2x tsa5a3359 devices.

The device is rated for 5v supply

    Regards,

    Kameron

  • In that case, could you please remove the 5V item from the power supply listing on the TMUX131 product webpage?

I'll likely use the TMUX1309A as an alternate.

  • Hi John

Understood and our team will be working on that in the next ti.com update.

Understood and just wanted to let you know that I actually recommended the TS5A3357

Its Performance at the frequencies for RGM should be fine  and the bandwidth should be enough here

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Kameron

  • Kameron, to clarify, in my original request, when I mentioned RGM, I was referencing the TMUX131 package type. We will be MUXing CAN bus signals.

  • Hi John

My apologies on the mis-read here.

The TMUX1309a should be fine here

Please let me know if you need any help in the future Regards,

    Kameron
