TS3A27518E-Q1: Output status with VCC UV/ failure mode

Part Number: TS3A27518E-Q1

TS3A27518E-Q1 will be used in a key position of my customer’s functional safety project. I want to confirm below Items

  1. what’s the output status when the VCC is under the working threshold, is it high impedance?

  2. Is it possible for TI to provide the failure mode of this device?

  3. Could TI provide the estimated failure rate? Because customer need it to do the FMEDA calculation.

  • Jeremy,

Can you please describe the application you are using the TS3A27518E-Q1 and what the switch is doing in the application?  We would like to know if this is in a safety critical application.

    1. what’s the output status when the VCC is under the working threshold, is it high impedance?

When V+ = 0V the device will be high impedance.  You can see this by looking at the leakage specs when V+ = 0V

    2.  Is it possible for TI to provide the failure mode of this device?

I'm not sure what you mean what the failure mode of this device is.   Could you describe what type of event you are concerned with the device so that I can have a better idea how the device will behave under those conditions?

    3. Could TI provide the estimated failure rate? Because customer need it to do the FMEDA calculation.

The TI estimated failure in time (FIT) rates based on fab process technology can be found on DPPM/FIT/MTBF estimator on TI.com.  If you need further details on FIT analysis we can handle this offline as it is proprietary information.

    Thank you,

    Adam
