SN74CBTLV3257: how to deal with the unused channels?

Part Number: SN74CBTLV3257

Could you please help double check whether the unused channels should be tied to high or low? Or leaved float? Thank you.

  • Hi Aki,

According to the datasheet, unused channels should be tied either HIGH or LOW on the “A” side.

Tieing the unused channels HIGH or LOW helps to counteract two main problems with slow and floating inputs in CMOS architectures: shoot-through current and oscillation.

For more information on shoot-through current and oscillation, check out this e2e forum post.

Our TI precision lab video explains what to do with unused pins.

This application note gives a detailed report of slow or floating CMOS inputs.

    Hope this helps!

    Regards,

    Tyler
