CCS/CC2640R2F: CCS Rename Resource end up with debug error "Target must be connected before loading program."

Hello colleagues,

I tried to use rename (Rename Resource) in CCS and when I try to build and debug (F11) I get the error below. It works fine if I just rename the project name in the .projectspec file before I import. Should this work? Is there an easy fix?

Cortex_M3_0: GEL Output: Memory Map Initialization Complete.
Texas Instruments XDS110 USB Debug Probe/Cortex_M3_0 : Target must be connected before loading program.

  • Eirik,

I am not entirely sure what is going on in your setup; this works well for me.

One detail: Eclipse is highly dependent on the context of the highlighted view - therefore, if you hit F11 but the selected view is pointing to a file that belongs to another project or points to a neutral view, the wrong target configuration may be launched.

In this case, can you be sure the project is highlighted when you launch the debugger?

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael

Check the debug options for the project. Make sure the 'Connect to the target on debugger startup' option under the 'Launch Options' for 'Auto Run and Launch Options' is enabled.
