Hi All
It is possible to exclude files in the workspace from being built. But, it doesn't seem to be possible to exclude all content of directories and sub-directories from being built.
This is a big problem since the workspace is shared with other projects which can modify content in their directories. The result is that all files have to be manually excluded from the build (again) each time somethig changes. Since these files are in a sub-directory with various sub-directories this is not practical since it takes a lot of work.
In other Eclipse based projects it is possible to select a folder and specify that all of its contents are excluded from a build. Is there a method in CCStudio 4.2 to solve this?

I looked and didn't see how to do this, so I moved this thread from the Stellaris forum to the CCS forum.
I don't think there's a way to do this in CCS 4.x (which is based on a an older version of Eclipse). Please see this post for a suggestion on excluding all files in a folder.
CCS 5.x (based on newer Eclipse) does allow selecting a directory and excluding it from build.

Thanks - since there are other tools in the project automatically generating folders and content it is necessary to keep manually excluding files as they appear, which is of course not acceptable - as provisonal solution a workspace exclusively for the CCStudio (a copy which will somehow need to be regulary merged with the working project) is being used.
It is however good to hear that things will improve with time (CCSv5). I have used Eclipse based tools for about 3 years (up to now always a bit of a nightmare and avoided whenever possible) and it has always felt as though the IDE assumes that it is at the centre of the universe and disregards the fact that modern projects are constructed and maintained with various tools and that these tools/data bases need to be able to live together. Now that the trend is to move environments to Eclipe it will at least mean that the annoying parts of it will probably also get improved as more people go through the initial suffering phase ;-)
