CCS Version: 12.5.0.00007: Error communicating with cloud agent

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP-MSPM0L1306, CCSTUDIO

I am using LP-MSPM0L1306 evaluation board with following development resources:

1. Code Composer Studio Version: 12.5

2. OS: Windows 7 Professional, 64 Bit System

I want to import project from Resource Explorer to get a head start reference.

I get the following error when I try to access the Resource Explorer:

Could not get agent, make sure to check if the agent is installed before calling this component

  • Hello,

Since you are using Resource Explorer inside CCS, it should be using the code agent service that comes with CCS.

What antivirus/security are you running on your system and is there any chance you can temporarily disable it to see if that helps?

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hi,

I also have the same problem with this CCS release. I did not have this earlier with previous versions of CCS. And the problem is that I cannot disable antivirus because it is a company policy and I even don't have rights to do this.
    Can you suggest a solution?

    Regards,
    Andy

  • Hi Andy,

Where do you have CCS installed? Can you confirm you have write permissions to the the install folder?

What host OS are you using?

And would it be possible to get a temporary exception from your company IT to disable antivirus to confirm if it is your antivirus that is impacting the behavior.

    Thanks

    ki

  • The path to the executable is:
    "C:\ti\ccs12\ccs\eclipse\ccstudio.exe"
     Version: 12.5.0.00007
    Windows 10 Pro 22H2 64-bit
My admin has disabled ESET antivirus and the problem persists. I tried running CCS with administrator privileges and the problem persists.

    Any advice?

    Regards,
    Andy

  • The path to the executable is:
    "C:\ti\ccs12\ccs\eclipse\ccstudio.exe"

    This is fine

My admin has disabled ESET antivirus and the problem persists. I tried running CCS with administrator privileges and the problem persists.

Thanks for trying this. I will need to discuss with the cloud engineers for further assistance.

  • Dear Andy,

Kindly go through following checklist, if this might help:

    1. You have installed Chrome Extension: TI Cloud Agent: chrome.google.com/.../pfillhniocmjcapelhjcianojmoidjdk

    2. You have enabled it in Chrome>> Settings>> Extension

    3. You have installed MSPM0 SDK.

    4. You have installed TI Clang Compiler.

    Thanks and Regards.

  • The tests below were performed on my second computer with Win 11.

CCS installed with 12.4.0 version. Resource Explorer is working correctly.
Then I updated CCS to 12.5.0.
Immediately after update the Resource Explorer stopped working.
So I went through the checklist above.
My default browser is Opera, but the TI Cloud Agent was installed already.
I changed default browser to Chrome, the TI Cloud Agent wasn't installed for Chrome so I installed it and enabled.
    Resource Explorer still doesn't work.
    I've installed MSPM0 SDK.
    No change.
    I've installed TI Clang Compiler.
    No change.

    Regards,
    Andy

Did you do an incremental update from 12.4 to 12.5 and it stopped working? If so, would it be possible to directly install 12.5 (in a new clean directory) and see if the issue still persists (please use a new workspace folder also)? If that fails, then can you do a full 12.4 install (again everything in a new directory and workspace) and see if the issue is there also?

If you still have your old 12.4 install, please see if things still work ok.

  • Just to confirm - I assume you are referring to the Resource Explorer in CCS and not the one on: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node

  • Yes, in all cases it was an incremental update. And yes, I'm referring to the Resource Explorer in CCS.
I did a full install from offline installer of CCS 12.5.0 and the problem is gone - it works now on a fresh new workspace as well as on the regular one.
So it has to be related with the incremental update of CCS.

    Best regards,
    Andy

Glad to hear that this worked for you. Thank you for the update and we will investigate if the issue is related to an update.

I confirmed this is the case. I filed a bug for this. Tracking link: https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-11512
