ccs 5.1 tools (release version) c6424 EVM

Hi Hari,

Both devices are supported with CCSv5.1. Are you trying to use the on-board emulation (connect USB cable directly to board) or are you using an external emulator?

I have used these boards on CCS ver 3.3. Now we are moving to CCS 5.1.

These boards are connected via USB cable. Can you give steps to add this EVMs?

I am trying to compile a test project. I am getting different errors. If I create a new project, then I get inaccessible memory. How do I see the right device in the project options?

When do you get this? When linking your project during build? Or when you are trying to load your program?

Most of the C6000 device files don't have the necessary information to show up in the project wizard.  Just pick one of the other options there such as C6474 and choose your connection type.  After the project is created you can double click on the ccxml file and change the device to the C6424.

Hari - from your document, I can see that you are not using a linker command file (at least the field for it in the project settings are blank). Hence, CCS will use default settings to place your code and while this is often fine on simulators, it usually fails on HW.

You can try creating your own or using an example one. There are some example ones for the C6474 that you can try:

Hari - sorry, but I realize you need files for the C6424. i would look at the C6424 EVM examples from spectrum digital:

c6000.spectrumdigital.com/evm6424/reva/files/evmc6424_v1.zip

There are linker command files, startup GEL files and example code.

The moment I added linker.cmd file, it came to valid memory location.
