CODECOMPOSER: TMS320F280x support in Theia based CCS Create New Project Wizard

Tool/software:

I've used CC20.1.0  to import projects created in CCS 12.8.1 that use the TMS320F2808 successfully - it's listed as a Device variant  in Properties -> general.

However, I'm struggling to use the Create new Project Wizard in CCS v20.1.0 to create a new project for a TMS320F2808. I can't seem to find the TMS320F2808 listed as a device at the very first step in the Project Wizard. None of the TMS320F280x devices seem to be listed.

How do I create a *new* Project using a F280x device using CCS 20.1.0 ?

    I believe the example project requires external device support found here: https://www.ti.com/tool/SPRC191

    That's good suggestion, but not the solution. I already have SPRC191 installed at the default location. It does not seem to change the availability of TMS320F2808 in the Create New Project Wizard.

    (I also note that SPRC only comes as an .exe - so would never help on macOs or Linux boxes anyway - I see the problem on macOS and Windows - not tried Linux)

    Hi Steven,

    It seems these devices are left out of the device mappings for the new CCS 20. I'll check with our CCS team to understand if this is on their roadmap to include and what their recommendation is. For now, it would be best to continue development using LTS CCS v12
