How to avoid opening external editor (CCS4)

Hi,

whenever i try to jump to a bookmark (or compiler error), CCS tries to open my external system editor and responds with an error. This is only true for *.c files, *,h files are opened correctly in the internal editor. How can this behaviour be avoided?

Regards

Ulf

  • Hello,

Can you please check under Window->Preferences->General->Editors->File Associations (see screenshot below) ?   Are c files set to default open with an external editor?  If so, this is where you can change that.

Please keep us informed whether this helps.

    Best Regards,
    Lisa

  • Hi Lisa,

i once configured CCS to use my external editor, but in the meantime i removed that association (and re-installed CSS). This is what i have:

It look's like there is no default editor selected, but whenever i try to select the C/C++ editor as default, CCS doesn't remember that setting.

    Regards

  • Hi Lisa,

i did'nt manage to add the screenshort now, but it seems that something with my settings went wrong. After having set up a blank new wokspace, the problem doesn't appear any more.
