Error while Importing Existing CCS4 project to CCS5

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28335

Hello All,

I was trying to import an existing CCS4 project to CCS5.  I got the error shown below.

I had three projects to import; one of them worked successfully, the other two gave me that error.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

-Quark

  • Hi Quark

it seems one or both of two things might be happening here

    - you are importing to a version of CCS that does not have the code generation tool version used to create the project installed

    - you are importing to a version of CCS that did not get support for the product family installed

Please double check and keep us informed.

    Lisa

  • Both versions have TI v6.0.2 Compilers and my target is TMS320F28335, which both supports.

I think I may have to just re-create the projects.  Maybe after doing one, I may figure out why import doesn't work.

  • Ok, please keep us informed.

  • I found what the problem was.

If your project had multiple build configurations under CCS v4 (especially old unused ones), some of them may still be set to use older versions of code generation tools.  One should either delete all (except one) build configurations or make sure they are all updated to use a version of code generation tools  that comes with CCS v5.

After that fix, import into v5 works.

  • Ok, very glad to hear things are resolved.

Thanks for the update and all the best with development.

    Best Regards,
    LIsa
