I am running CCS 5.1 in a linux virtual box on a Windows 7 PC. The Oracle Virtual Box is configured with a USB filter for the XDS 510USB emulator. The target is a L138 so it has both an ARM and a DSP.
When trying to connect using the emulator, it says it is trying to initialize the debugger (ICEPICK_C) and after a bit of time, there is a pop-up that says "Error initializing emulator". The title of the dialog is "Spectrum Digital XDS510USB Emulator_0/ICEPICK_C
At first, it seemed possible that it was a licensing problem and indeed, there was a licensing issue. With that solved though, the behavior is not any different.
Will the USB-based emulator work from CCS 5.1 running in a VM virtual box?
Thanks.
Hi,

Unfortunately I don't think that will be possible with your emulator. Please check the section Linux as a guest OS of the page below:

I am actually using Oracle VM VirtualBox instead of VMware.
Is there a similar page about VirtualBox_with_CCS instead of VMware?
Thanks.
John - sorry, there is no page for VirtualBox. The CCS team extensively uses VMware. But there are many people who are successfully using CCS with VirtualBox. Hopefully someone can share their experiences.
