I have loaded the CCS 5.2.1, ControlSUITE, and SysBIOS packages to my system. I have listened to almost all of the Concerto College videos. I have created a project based on one of the examples and built it. I am ready to try running it and found that I get:
"The selection cannot be launched, and there are no recent launches" in a message box.
An email answer I got indicated I need to set up a target configuration. The problem is that I don't know what the correct settings to use for my TMDXDOCKH52C1 contol card. I don't know which emulator to choose, since it is the on board hardware. I have looked at the three TI emulators in the list I got and didn't see the hardware I am using in any of their lists.
I have spent about 6 hours trying to find a CLEAR, STEP BY STEP, getting started for the Concerto with CCS, using the kit, and I can’t find it. There is very much information, but it is also very fragmented. The info that came with the kit doesn’t have any step by step except how to download CCS and ControlSuite. I would have expected a folder with a few samples of easy to run hello world, with a “here’s the setting you use to hook up this board to CCS, using these board switch settings”
I also see very useful sounding things like MCU SDK packages mentioned, their user guides are available and downloadable from numerous pages, and nowhere can I find the actual downloadable package. I found a couple of hits in the E2E, but neither led me to anything that can be downloaded. It seems those things should be right in the software section of the Concerto page. It would really be nice if there was a Concerto Documents Page that I could check off the ones I want, and do a mass download. It would sure save a lot of time.
Mike,
The type of emulator on the Concerto board would be a "Texas Instruments XDS100v2". Most of the C2000 kits that I have had included a quickstart guide that include info on the connection type. I don't have a Concerto board to see what is included but looking at the listing on the web it should have had a disk included with CCS. I can pass on the feedback on the kit.
There is a pretty good C2000 specific CCS getting started guide that would be worth checking out. The reference device is a different C2000 part but it still covers a lot of the key concepts.
The MCU SDK (TI RTOS SDK) can be downloaded here. There is a link on the Tools & Software section of the concerto page. It is called TI RTOS.

John
