All,
I currently have CCS v3.3.38.2 running on a PC using windows XP SP3. The rest of the details are as follows:
IDE version 5.98.0.219
Bios version 5.31.02
Code Generation Tools version 6.0.8
Question:
I'm in the process of getting a newer and more powerful PC which is going to run Windows 7 (64 bit) and I was wondering if my current version of CCS 3.3 will be compatible. If not, what do I need to do to move it to the new PC.
Thanks,
Len
Hi Len,
CCSv3.3 is not officiallly support in Win 7. However, some customers have been seen to successfully migrate. This wiki has some tips and might be of interest to you. Of course some things such as compatibility mode etc might help.

I hope this will help.

Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the quick response!
I've read some of the posts regarding this very subject on the e2e website and see quite a bit of e-mails flying back and forth. It seems people are doing quite a bit of hacking and experimenting in order to get CCS v3.3 running on Windows 7. I'm uneasy with this aprroach as one never knows what hidden problems are present or what new problems are introduced. Can the folks at TI (i.e. developers) provide a list of sure fire steps which have been shown to work for getting CCs v3.3 to work and be fully functional on Windows 7 x 64 bit? I've looked at the wiki link you provided and get the haunting feeling there should be more steps. BTW, I'm still currently running with XP and have not yet started the install process on the new machine running Windows 7 x 64 bit.
Regards,
Len
Hi Len,
unfortunately , as mentioned, there is no official support so there are no magic steps or guarantee I could give you, as much as I understand your situation and would like to. The best we can offer is the tips and tricks and assurance we have seen customers run in this environment.
Best Regards,
Lisa
