CCS 5.4 can't find SA LLD

Hi,

I installed CCS 5.4 on my Win 7 PC. When the CCS starts to run for the first time, it looks through c:\ti folder for other TI packages. It comes with the following error. How to resolve this?

Hi Eric,

Looks like CCS cannot find XDCtools. Did you install a full version of CCS? Can you see XDCtools in Preferences > CCS > RTSC > Products page?

I can see XDC tool 3.23.3.53.

Can you point me to where i can download the "SA LLD" product from? I'll try to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Baltasar,

SA LLD needs export control, and it is not part of MCSDK distribution, so SA LLD is not installed on my computer. But with CCS 5.3, it can find the MCSDK (without SA LLD inside) without reporting such error. With CCS 5.4, it reports this error and preventd me from finding the rest TI packages.

Hi Eric,

I do not fully understand the situation...maybe you could attach a few screenshots? I don't know how CCS discovers SA LLD if it's not installed.

In any case, when CCS finds new RTSC products, it displays a list of discovered products and allows you to uncheck those which you do not want to be installed. If you know that you don't want SA LLD to be installed, you can uncheck it, and proceed to install the remainder of the discovered products.

Doesn't look like your attachment made it. Could you try attaching it again? There is an "Options" tab where you can add an attachment to your post...

Could you also attach the screenshot of your c:/ti/ directory's contents, and also the Preferences > CCS > RTSC > Products page in CCS?

Eric,

I think your c:/ti directory has gotten a bit bloated over time, and it contains some unexpected contents. Specifically, the c:/ti/eclipse/ directory is not something that CCS expects, and it is most probably throwing CCS off during its search for RTSC products, and also probably during CCS installation.

I don't think your CCS has installed properly, because you only see the IPC and XDCtools products in the Preferences page. Could you try installing CCS 5.4 into a new directory?

Also, if you later wish to register your existing products (from the c:/ti directory) with CCS, you will first have to rename the c:/ti/eclipse/ directory to something else (or delete if you do not need it).

Thanks! I removed the eclipse folder under c:\ti and re-installed CCS 5.4 to a different folder. It is working now.
