When test connection, it prompted below issue.

The emulator can be connected when its first use withour PC reboot.

But it failed after PC reboot.

He tried different version of CCSV5 on different PC. But it still fails.

  • Gary,

Sorry about the long delay in replying to your thread.

I confess I never saw this issue before, but the file mentioned (_desktop.ini) is not part of a standard CCSv5 install.

Therefore, I imagine a few scenarios:

    - The target configuration (.ccxml) or the auto-generated (ccBoard0.dat) files are somehow getting corrupt. In this case, they can try to re-create the target configuration file (from within CCS) or erase the auto-generated one (check the linked page below).

    - Something specific to his system (either a virus or the operating system itself) is somehow inserting this file in this directory or is corrupting the executable that runs when the Test Connection button is pressed (a file dbgjtag.exe under C:/ti/ccsv5/ccs_base/common/uscif). To verify this, can you copy the attached file to the utility directory and try to run the command below from the command line and see if the issue shows as well? This would indicate the file dbgjtag.exe is corrupt:

    C:\ti\ccsv5\ccs_base\common\uscif>dbgjtag -f TIXDS100v2.dat -rv -S pathlength -S integrity

As mentioned before for the auto-generated file, another idea is to delete all the previously cached information when starting or reinstalling CCS. Check step 2 of the section Installation of the CCSv5 Troubleshooting page.

In this case, I am unsure how to further test this apart from trying reinstalling a different Operating System, running an antivirus, etc. One remark: at least for Windows 7, it seems the copy mentioned in your post is distributed across Torrent servers (cn_windows_7_ultimate_with_sp1_x64_dvd_618537.iso), which could have unknown behavior and settings.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
