Created a C project got it working with the DRV8412EVM GUI from CrossHairs (v9).
Loaded GUI Composer:

Made changes to the C program provided with the DRV8412EVM kit, and got a nice GUI up and running. Worked well. I created and did "Install Project" for several versions of the GUI.
Saved and shut down CSS.
Logged out for the night.
Started up CSS, see my project (which re-builds clean), and do "View GUI Composer".
Came up with the GUI Composer visible (since it was last there), and life was good.
Next I tried to selected a ValueButton that was very near another Value button. It would not give me the blue highlight for the button showing that it was highlighted. So I used the mouse to click and drag a box around the ValueButton I wanted to move, and the blue background around that button appeared. But then I tried to move it with a left-click + move the mouse, the blue highlight disappeared and the dashed gray select box appeared again. I re-did this, and ended up with a couple of pinkish alignment lines. Next the cursor became a 4-arrowhead icon, and nothing would clear the icon. So I closed the GUI Composer project, to try again.
I shut down the CSS, hoping that the issue was with temporary files.
I bring CSS up again (both without and then with PC restarts), but now I can't start up the GUI Composer Project. It shows up in the Projects list, but I can't figure out how to start a GUI Composer Project.
I tried to create a new project, and it creates but again doesn't start up properly. The screen flashes up the workspace showing a default title and "Put widgets here" message, but then it has a blank work area, though the new project and old project show up in the Projects list.
So I double-left click on the html file. But the GUI Composer hangs with "Loading..." in the main window frame.
Now what??? How do I get a project that shows up in the GUI Composer Projects list to actually let me edit it?

Update: I found that if I create a new project using the MultiTab project template, things are still broken. But if I create a new project selecting the Simple project template, my original project shows up.
Hmmmm...
Something might got corrupted. Try removing the .GUIComposer folder in your workspace, restart CCS and create the project again.
If things still not working for you, we can try to use an external Chrome browser to debug the internal application and see if there is any error in the chrome debugger console view.

BTW. How did you get the project into the GUI Composer editor? Did you copy from the file system or using the import feature?
I created this GUI from the GUI Composer "Create new project", and had used the "Simple" template selection. Everything was built from the menu system. Nothing was imported or copied from elsewhere.
I had worked for days making small changes, saving often. As I gained more confidence with the Composer, I started saving less often..
Yesterday I made a number of changes, including adding Content Panes and changing background colors. I ran into the editing problem, and shut down (press the X in the GUI Composer tab), and that's when I lost the ability to bring the project back up when I started CSS and opened my project then the GUI Composer.
When my project came back up this morning, all those changes were gone. I'm now back to "make one change and save" mode.
If you run into the same issue again, if you don't mind, can you zip up the .GUIComposer folder and attach it here or you can send it to me in a private channel. I can take a look at your project and see what might have cause the issue.
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Patrick
It seems that when I add a Content Pane or Title Pane is when it gets unhappy.
I'm running into it a lot when trying to move buttons, text boxes, and vertical scroll bars from the main background into a pane.
I use default directories and settings. My GUI Composer workspace is a folder in the selected TI CCS workspace folder. ("../TICCworkspace_v6_0/.GUIComposerWS/...)
I imported your project, unfortunately I am not able to see the issue that you having. I also tried to created my own project with the ContentPane and TilePane, still can't reproduce it.
For the project that you have attached here, is it the bad project or just a sample project that you are working on?
It is the problem project.
Add a couple of text boxes to the main edit area. Select and Cut them. Select a Container pane. Paste them into the container, then move some other controls around, then go back to the added text boxes and move them close together and close to a container edge, but still completely visible. That is when I see the most issues.
I see exception when using the ctrl key. Are you using the keyboard to copy and paste the widget?
OK. what if you don't use the keyboard to copy and past and use the context menu. Do you still see issue?
I like to confirm whether the ctrl key is the cause of this issue.
Thanks.
Yes.
I have a Value Button on a Control Pane that is right under a Label. When I use the left-click to try and move the button, I can get into a mode where I see the 4 arrow icon. I let the mouse button up, then I click on another graphic (like another button or text box somewhere) the cursor becomes the normal single arrow.
But when I try to click on the moved button, the GUI no longer seems to see the object. So I use the left-click again to "surround" the button, and suddenly it is now selected. But when I try to use the left-click to move it this time, it doesn't move the button icon, but instead does the "select an area" task.
I just noticed that if I make the moved button large enough (like 4x the original size), then the mouse left-click does select the button icon object again. I see the problem only when 2 graphical objects are near each other.
Other odd behavior with GUI Composer:
Install Project: Have a GUI project that you want to save from the Design view to a CSS project. In the GUI Composer, select Save (at the top left), then select the Install Project icon.
If you type a name and then Enter before selecting OK, it saves fine.
But if you type a name and select OK (without Enter), it comes up and shows a "Save Files" window that says "There are unsaved files. Please press one of the following: ....". It also indicates I'm trying to do an export, which I am not.
Tab Container: Have a 2 tab container. In Design view, the selected tab starts out as highlighted. If you press the other tab without doing anything else, the tab text highlight indicating selected, but the tab contents don't change. But if I select the Content Pane of the Tab Container first, then when I select the tab it does change to the tab contents. But the first time coming back from running the application, it DOES switch properly.
This is an extremely powerful and useful GUI, but really needs more testing. There are a number of features that show as useful, but don't seem to do anything yet. Example: text-align seems to work, but vertical-align doesn't.
