App Center

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

I've searched through the forums and found many posts regarding App Center and how it fails to work. I've tried all of the suggestions with no luck. I am able to update CCS whenever it is required.

Specifically, I am trying to install TI-RTOS for TivaC. I have installed Code Composer Studio Version: 6.1.0.00104 on a Windows 7 machine. From the App Center I select TI-RTOS for TivaC and click on the Install Software button. The status bar on the bottom appears to get to a server but eventually I get the error message: Failed to install the selected add-ons. Please see the Error Log for more details.

The Eclipse Log:

!ENTRY com.ti.ccstudio.p2app 4 0 2015-04-20 14:04:46.767
!MESSAGE The installable unit ,com.ti.rtsc.TIRTOStivac.product.feature.group has not been found.

I was able to download the TI-RTOS from ti.com however I am reluctant to install it as the recommended procedure is to use the App Center. I have found CCS/Eclipse can be very fussy and I prefer to use the recommended installation if possible.

  • Robert,

Are you able to install other updates from App Center? I am wondering if TI-RTOS for TivaC is the only one giving an issue or all updates have an issue. Could you select one of the other add-ons and let us know how it goes?

  • Thanks for helping.

I updated code composer on 4/16 with no issues. I can't download any add-on from the app center. I can download the non-add-on software like tivaware (clicking download directs me to a download site).

Did you have CCS 6.0.1 before applying this update? In other words, do you know if the update you did on 4/16 updated your CCS from 6.0.1 to 6.1.0?

  • I'm not sure. While trying to debug this problem, I uninstalled Code Composer and started with a fresh install. This was done on 4/16 from an install file I downloaded on 4/9. Also, I received an update alert when I started CCS this morning.

If you are not able to download any add-on from App Center it could have to do with your proxy settings. Please check your proxy settings. This wiki page may be helpful.

  • IT department took a look and tried to get this working. All options were tested (direct, manual, and native). All resulted with the same error. They also said we do not use a proxy server.
  • Not sure if this is helpful or not but I am getting prompted that there is a 'Debug Server Flash' update available when I start CCS. I can also click on Check For Updates and I get the same 'Debug Server Flash' available update.

  • Hi Robert,

Would you be able to try a different path to install TI-RTOS? You would need to start CCS and go to Help->Install New Software. When a dialog pops up, click on "Add" button in top right corner. In the dialog for Name enter "TI-RTOS for Tivac", the name does not really matter, but something relevant helps. Then in Location: field enter http://software-dl.ti.com/targetcontent/esd/tirtos_tivac/update/ Once you close the dialog you should see dialog like below. Check TI RTOS and click Next few times. The app center goes through a very similar process, but there is a very small layer on top of those manual step. Knowing whether it works with these manual steps would greatly to narrow down the problem area.

    Thank you,
    Martin

  • The TI-RTOS downloaded and installed correctly.
