Problem of Trace Analyzer on Cortex R4

I am using the RM48 USB Stick Development Kit which includes Cortex R4F and XDS100v2 USB Debug Probe.
I want to use the Trace Analyzer with CCS Version: 6.1.0.00104.
I began to create a RM48 Target Configuration file and the test of connection is OK.
Then I entered in the debug mode.
Then I set a Function Profiling Configuration but I got the following error message:

Could not run analyzer on Cortex R4. Cause:

Read device ID did not match the device descriptions available.

Possible reasons:

(1) Target is not connected

(2) Trace support for the device is not available in the version of the software.

Where is the mistake?

Jerome,

XDS100v2 is able to perform Trace on devices that have a built-in Embedded Trace Buffer (ETB). Looking at the RM48L950 documentation, I can't find evidence it has one, therefore Tracing on this device with the XDS100v2 is not possible.

Hello Rafael,
Is the ETB necessarily embedded in microcontroller devices or is it possible to integrate it on development board?
How are structured the links between JTAG Emulator – ETB – Microcontrollers and Cortex R4?
Can you give me some documentation on this subject?
