Today when I launched CCS6.1, it offered an update of MSP430 related stuff (I don't recall exactly how it was phrased.). Now there aren't any "Example Projects" for my part (MSPi2xxx) in the TI Resource Explorer. I know there used to be some, because I've run one -- testblink (I don't know if that was the original name or not) which is still in my workspace.
When I ran the update today, it said I needed to re-launch CCS for the changes to take effect. I did that, and when CCS started up again I was asked for an administrator ID and password, which I gave. It chugged away for a minute or two, but then it bombed because I didn't have proper permissions or something along those lines.
I logged out of my user account and into the administrator account to run the update there, but I couldn't find the EXE file anywhere on the disk (including my user account directories). So I launched CCS from the administrator account, but there was no pop-up about the update. I clicked "Help:Check for Updates" and it said the installation was up to date.
FYI, I'm using:
Below are some screen caps from TI Resource Explorer.
Thanks.
Leo Oxvox said:nowhere does it say you need to explicitly enter what you're looking for in the search box -- I assumed the file-tree was complete and the search box was for use when the graphical interface proved unhelpful. That's basically how every similar graphical UI I've ever used has worked. Why would TI want to re-invent this?
Yes this is the way it is supposed to be. However, in your screenshots, the filter field (search box) has "Example Projects" in there. I assume you opened the Resource Explorer via 'Project -> Examples'. This opens the Resource Explorer and automatically adds "Example Projects" to the filter field with the goal of just showing examples. But it seems like not all examples in MSPWare are tagged properly hence some examples are missing when that filter is enabled. If you clear the filter field, you'll see everything. It looks like bug with either MSPWare or Resource Explorer. I'll file a bug for this.
Thanks
