Hi,
I have purchased CCSV6 3 floating license edition from TI.I have installed the same in 3 PCs.After installing it is showing as 'Free License' in the CCSV6 IDE.
I was expecting that it vl show as 'Licensed' one.Any idea on this??

Varun
Varun,
Typically you have the server running on a separate machine somewhere on the network. It then serves up the licenses to clients. I don't see why you couldn't have a client on the same machine as the server.
It is possible that the license server is setup correctly but CCS has found the free license first and hasn't needed to look for a full one yet. Basically it will use the first license it finds that satisfies its requirements. Then if it needs some other feature that isn't satisfied by the current license it will continue looking. To see if that is what is happening what you can do is remove the free license.
Go to help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing Information. Select the Manage tab.
Below you can see the free license location on my machine. Look at what it shows in your dialog and then go remove that file and place it somewhere else.
Once you have done that restart CCS and see if it is able to obtain a license from the license server. In all honestly license servers are a pain. If you decide that you would rather have node locked (individual machine) licenses let me know and I can do a swap for you.

Hi John,
Thanks for the Reply.I tried the steps given by you.
But still the CCS is able to fetch the license and it is displaying as 'Evaluation License' only in the IDE.!!!!
I am not interested in node locked (individual machine) licenses as my requirement demands for the floating license.

It will switch to 'Full License' mode after 83 days.Is my understanding correct?
Yes, you're very correct!
