little changes to the project configuration results in huge change in .cproject

I would call this a bug: I've experienced this two times now. I just made a little change to a project (add LibSearch as prebuild step). I can see that difference in the .cproject file. But in addition, I see tons of other changes. For example:

is changed to:

I consider this to be a bug, because now I have to go through every changed setting and to make sure that I did not changed anything by accident and this costs a lot of time.

I've attached the complete diff. I hope you can fix this. CCS Version is  6.1.1.00022.

    Torsten,

    Do you know if your origianl Project was created with a previous release of CCS?

    The reason is that I have the impression some additional fields were added in newer releases to either fix bugs or add new features; therefore CCS leaves these files untouched until a Project-level configuration is changed, which in turn makes the whole Project adapted to the newer specifications.

    In any case I am reporting this to one of the resident experts on this to see if he can have additional insights.

    Hi Rafael,
    I'm quite sure, that I have installed CCS only once on the machine. But what might happened is, that an CCS update was installed meanwhile.

    Torsten,

    We agree with you it is a bug in the open source CDT (where CCS is based). CDT persists the “name” of each build-option into the .cproject file for some reason, but there is no good reason to persist option names.

    In this case I filed the bug number SDSCM00052402 (check its status in the link SDOWP in my signature below). However, given this is an issue with the open source components of CCS, a definitive fix may take a while to be implemented.

    A workaround suggestion from our resident expert: "So as a workaround he could just check-in the version of the file with the additional “name” attributes, and after that he shouldn’t see these bogus changes anymore."
