CCS V6 + Linux + Launchpad MSP430G2

Hi,

My question is along the line of this question ("CCSV5.2 for linux and msp430 launchpad, is debug supposed to work?") from 2012:

I have recently installed CCS V6 on a Linux (xubuntu 14.04 LTS) VM. I also have ergia installed on same VM. My target is Launchpad MSP-EXP430G2 (V1.4).

I'm able to program the target using energia but not with CCS.

I have searched for information involving CCS, Linux and Launchpad but have not come across any post involving all three.

My question is: Is it possible to program a device in Launchpad MSP-EXP430G2 using CCS V6 installed on Linux platform as of December 2015?

Am I missing a step or a doc or a technote?
