Are there constellation / XY plots back to CCS?

Hello!

I have found several threads reporting constellation / XY plots were dropped in CCS. Incident database for SDSCM00047049 reports it was fixed for CCSv5.5, but I see no corresponding item in my v6.1.1 installation. May I ask someone of TI people to clarify the situation.

I saw some opinion that those features were not often used. Believe me, for baseband engineer that is vital tool.

I saw also a recommendation to use GUI composer. I never used it before and description of those tools tells support for several families, but not for my C66. I don't know, should I spend time studying them or not.

Would appreciate hints and workarounds.

  • Hi,

Take a look at the thread below. Some GUI composer functionality is not supported on C66x family, but given it interacts with the CCS debugger (which is compatible across the board), this particular functionality works.

    Hope this helps,

  • Hello, Rafael,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

I have tried to install GUI Composer for my 6.1.1, but it did not appear nowhere in CCS. Just recently there similar trouble was reported. I am sure I am using full Edit and Debug perspectives, and just in case I have tried to switch to Simple and back. That did not work for me. I anticipate it would take a time to get it working. So keeping in mind this suggested workaround, may suggest and vote again to bring back constellation plots?

  • Hi,

So I assume you don't see this, right?

Unfortunately the App Center internals sometimes escape my comprehension. I can try to get some additional help to install this.

As for the constellation graphs, unfortunately at this point there are no plans to bring that back. I am very sorry.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Oh, no. I have downloaded stand alone installer of GUI composer, run it, and saw nothing afterwards. However, when I installed it from App Center as on your screenshot, corresponding menu item did appear in View menu.
So at least this issue was resolved and I have to find my way with component itself.
I appreciate your prompt and relevant hint.
    Thank you.
