Code Composer 4.10 PC Requirements

What PCs will CC 4.10 (not CCS) run on?  I have a customer who needs to revive a C50 project and will need to use that...

FYI, I have a parallel thread with Spectrum Digital and they informed me that XDS510PP Plus will support C50 along with CC 4.10, but it would require true motherboard parallel port, not an adapter.

  • CCv4.1 was pretty lean, would run on a pretty low end machine.  Think we had Pentium IIs back then.

  • I'm thinking from the opposite end of the spectrum.  I'm sure it would fail on Vista/7.  What about XP?  2000?  NT?  In other words, what's the most recent OS that I could run CC 4.10 on?

  • The last computer we (DCAT) had it running on was Windows 98 based, which was only around for specifically running old Code Composer for C3x/4x stuff (now it is gone).

I have heard of customers getting it to mostly work with XP (so NT and 2k may also work somewhat), I am not sure how solidly that is tested though, which probably means you could get some functionality in 7 with XP virtual machine mode, but you never know.

The best advice I could give would be to give it a try and see what happens, and if at all possible convince your customer to use something newer :).
