Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver

Hello I have a problem with my MSP 432,I get the error "Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver. Confirm device and debug probe configuration is correct, or update device driver". Also the XDS110-ET side of the launchpad board gets really hot in just a few seconds. I started to get this problems since I dowload the MSPWare in the CCS( 6.1.2).

I used the solution that was posted in:(https://e2e.ti.com/support/development_tools/code_composer_studio/f/81/p/414141/1652392

  • ......... I used that solution one day ago and it works, but today I got no results

There have been other reports of the XDS110-ET side of the launchpad board overheating. The thread MSP432 overheating, or is this normal? says the fault can be triggered if you touch the C125 capacitor on the edge of the launchpad while it is powered.

Since the XDS110-ET side of the launchpad board gets really hot in just a few seconds I think the launchpad may have been damaged which is causing the error "Device ID is not recognized or is not supported by driver. Confirm device and debug probe configuration is correct, or update device driver".

Suggest you post in the MSP Low-Power Microcontroller Forum to see if the launchpad can be recovered. Others who reported problems with the launchpad overheating got replacements from TI.
