Trying to install drivers for more than one DSP in code composer studio V3.1

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO

Hi,

I am trying to install the drivers and files for a F2812 fixed point DSP on a Spectrum Digital eZdsp. I already had CCStudio v3.1 and the drivers for the C6713 floating point DSP on a Spectrum Digital DSK board installed and have been using it for some time. However after trying to install the drivers for the F2812 DSP using the disk that came with the F2812 DSP and trying to launch CCStudio again for both DSP evaluation boards, I am unable to connect and load CCStudio for either DSP's.

I get an error message window saying "your Code Composer does not support the connected target. Device driver name: "C\CCStudio_V3.1\driver\sdgo2812eZdsp.dvr" " for the F2812 fixed point DSP and basically the same message for the C6713 floating point DSP saying  "our Code Composer does not support the connected target. Device driver name: "C\CCStudio_V3.1\driver\sdgo6713dsk.dvr" ".

I do not see where the installation has failed and i have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times.  Is there a way to have both DSP's running on a single computer  or is that possibly some kind of limitation with the evaluation versions of CCStudio?

  • Richard,

As per your description it seems that your CCStudio 3.1 came with your C6713 DSK, is that so? If so, then it will not work with the F2812 eZdsp drivers and/or board, since it was tailored for the DSK. Only full releases of CCS can work with multiple targets and emulators.

Would you be open to give CCSv4 a try? It can be used freely with the F2812 eZdsp and the C6713 DSK boards. Not to mention that, if you have legacy projects for the C6713, you can always keep CCS3.1 installed until you feel comfortable in migrating everything to the new release.

To learn more about CCSv4 and know more about how to download a copy please have a look at the Getting Started Guide:

Page 2 of the forum thread below shows how to use the eZdsp F2812 with the free limited license:

    Hope this helps.
