CCS/CC2650STK: CC2650STK code examples, accelerometer, etc

Part Number: CC2650STK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2650,

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I have received a CC2650STK and sensortag devpack. i am a first time user. I would like to see examples on access the accelerometer, changing ranges, sensitivity etc, but when i go to CC2650 under TI cloud resources there are only RTOS examples with nothing relating to all the hardware onboard. on the web i have seen videos showing you can select sensor tag examples and see other options which are not showing now. Can someone help me?

Regarding the CCS ide has anyone had an issue with installation where there is an error due to the installer missing a vc runtime x86 msi? From what i have read the cloud version is good enough for beginning to program the sensor tag is this correct?

Thank you

Richard

The CC2650 SDK is not available on cloud. But you can download a standalone version on to your local environment:

    http://www.ti.com/tool/ble-stack

Make sure you grab the one that supports the cc2650

    See: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Troubleshooting_CCSv7#Installation_error_related_to_missing_MSVC_redistributable_libraries

It is ok to get started and to evaluate hardware. But if you want some more advanced debugging capability, you'll want to start using CCS as your primary debugger.

  • Hi Ki thanks for your email.

I have successfully installed ccs 7.2 and ble stack 2.2.1. I can compile "sensortag_cc2650stk_app and _stack" but i cannot connect to the target. I have connected the dev board to the CC2650 correctly, when it is connected to the pc it shows up under Texas Instruments Debug Probes (XDS110 data port and debug probe". When connected i can connect my iphone to the sensor tag and see it works. When i do a device connection test i receive the following message, what is the problem here, could you help me please. Once connected i want to be able to change the range of the accelerometer, sensitivity and log the data to the pc depending on the acceleration value. What is the defult range of the acceloemeter, where can i change the value?

    The explanation is:
An attempt to connect to the XDS110 failed.
The cause may be one or more of: no XDS110 is connected, invalid
firmware update, invalid XDS110 serial number, or faulty USB
cable. The firmware and serial number may be updated using the

  • Hi Richard,
I see you also posted the same question in a new thread.
