CCS/CC430F5137: Licensing code composer studio v6.2

Part Number: CC430F5137

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I downloaded CCSV6.2 from official site install it and run. Then i downloaded free non locked license and generated and downloaded 3 months free license using my mac address. How can i activate one of them in my ccsv6, no field about licensing information was founded.

  • Hi,
Just go to processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Download_CCS, grab software-dl.ti.com/.../ccslicense.zip, and be sure to read 'Free license for older versions' clause on that page.
  • I've noticed your answer. But there are some lines like "With the release of CCSv7 all previous v4, v5 and v6 releases are free of charge. Simply unzip and copy the License File for Older versions into <install dir>/ccs_base/DebugServer/license. Then go to Help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing information and point CCS to this license file. Restart CCS." But as was mentioned earlier, i didn't found lines like "Help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing information". That was my question.
  • Yury,

CCSv6.2 should have that Help -> Code Composer Studio Licensing Information. That is odd if it is not there. CCSv7.2 won't have that as the licensing component has been removed. For 6.x if you drop the license in that DebugServer/license folder CCS should find it fine. If it does not then at some point it will prompt you for a license file in a dialog and you can click on a button there to point to the file.

    John
  • Note that if you are using MacOS or Linux with CCSv6.2 that menu would not be there. The implementation back then on Mac and Linux was different so that may be why you don't see the menu item.

  • I'm using ubuntu 14.04, my version is odd - 6.2.

  • Yury,

For 6.2 on Linux just copy the file into the /ccsv6/ccs_base/DebugServer/license folder
