Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hoping to set up a (new, discrete) build environment for the CC2640R2 - to see some examples.

Am dutifully attempting install of required food chain, including: xdctools_3_50_02_20_core

On CCS' attempt to install the xdctools, installer reports various .jar files 'has(sp) been tampered'.

Hmm.. At a loss. How to remediate?

    There is an issue with the xdctools that is bundled in this SDK. If you install the SDK via Resource Explorer this issue should not occur. However you will need to delete the offending XDCTools installation so that CCS doesn't keep discovering it.
