CCS/CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL: CCS Debug Error has occured

Part Number: CC3220SF-LAUNCHXL
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC3220SF

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I was working on a project using CC3220SF launchpad when all of a sudden I could no longer Debug any project in my workspace. When I tried to debug a project from another workspace, debug session would run. This is the message that appeared every time I would debug a project. On the debug icon it comes as "Debug mqtt_client_CC3220SF_LAUNCHXL_tirtos_ccs (already running)".

Can someone help me in removing this error. I am positive that I have not changed any settings.

Regards Shlok.

  • Hi Shlok,

Try following the CC3220 SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® and Internet of Things Solution, a Single-Chip Wireless MCU Getting Started Guide doc then try debug the network terminal.

If previously you have not flashed the correct signature files, then you try to debug a CCS project there is some problem.

  • Hi Aarti.
Thanks for the tip. I deleted the metadata folder and imported the projects from workspace again and it works. Thanks a lot. However sometimes the C/C++ compiler hangs while trying to save the project and then I cannot do anything. So I have to take a backup of everything and import that backup project again. Can you tell me how I can avoid that??
    Regards Shlok.
  • Glad to hear that your original issue is resolved.

Do you mean that CCS hangs in the C/C++ Indexer when trying to save a file? If so, it sounds related to this thread. Could you please take a look at it and if your symptoms are related, please try out the patch posted to that thread.

If the patch does not help, could you generate thread stack dumps (as mentioned in this post) the next time you encounter the issue and send them to us?

  • Shlok,

Since I haven’t heard back from you, I’m assuming you were able to move past this issue and will be closing this thread. If the issue is not resolved, please post a reply below with the requested details. Thanks!
