CCS/LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2: Cannot install XDS110 driver on Windows 7 Embedded

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I'm using a LAUNCHXL-CC2640R2F but I cannot install the driver for the XDS110 debug probe on Windows 7 Embedded.

I think that this happens because Windows recognizes it as an unsigned or wrongly signed driver, so it refuses it.

The devices making the problem are "XDS110 Class Application/User UART" and "XDS110 Class Auxiliary Data Port".

By searching in the forums I have not found any useful reply.

I'm using latest driver available at the time of writing (7.0.188.0).

According to this thread:

e2e.ti.com/.../1776082

I'm posting my request here at CCS forum.

Sincerely.

  • I forgot to write that I read into xds110_ports.inf about the reference to usbser.sys, which is missing into Windows 7 Embedded. Adding this file temporally in the windows driver directory did not solve the issue.
    Sincerely.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately Windows 7 Embedded was never supported by or tested with our XDS-class Debug Probes.

If this OS supports the Dependency Walker tool, I would try to run it on the driver DLL and SYS to see if there are any obvious missing dependencies, but apart from this I am afraid our ability to help you is quite limited.

    Regards,
    Rafael
