CCS/TMS320C6713B: Migration from CCS4 --> CCS7.x

Part Number: TMS320C6713B

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

We run a DSP undergraduate course, with C6713 at its core. Our IT dept are upgrading all PCs to Win 10/CCS 7(currently Win 7/CCS4). Will the board we're using (TMS320C6713) still work with the more modern set up?

  • Paul,

    C6713B is still supported in CCSv7 and CCSv8. You will likely want to install an older version of the compiler. I believe we are bundling the C6000 8.2 compiler. You could always install the 7.4 compiler and CCS will allow you to use that.

    Note that the debug probe built onto the C6713 probes is quite old. When we move CCS to a native 64bit application on Windows it would no longer be supported. That will likely happen in 2019 with a CCSv9 release. You could still use the board but would need an external debug probe.

    Regards,
    John
  • Thanks, I'll give it a go
