CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28027: XDS100v1 usb emulator problem Error (-151)

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28027

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I have recently procured TI's - piccolo -F28027 lauchpad.

It refuses to connect.

I am trying to run the basic LED blink program but it shoots this error:

Error connecting to the target:
(Error -151 @ 0x0)
One of the FTDI driver functions used during the connect
returned bad status or an error. The cause may be one or
more of: no XDS100 is plugged in, invalid XDS100 serial number,
blank XDS100 EEPROM, missing FTDI drivers, faulty USB cable.
Use the xds100serial command-line utility in the 'common/uscif'
folder to verify the XDS100 can be located.
(Emulation package 8.0.27.9)

I have done all tasks relating to debugging this issue mentioned in various other threads:

1. Reinstalled CCS with selection of all types of Emulation and USD debug probes.

2.Reinstalled XDS100 device drivers.

i m not understanding the issue, the device is showing up

from command prompt it is clear that it the device is detected, thereby the drivers are also installed properly.

Moreover,

UART connection is working with default temp sensor code as shown.

Please rectify this issue

error is shown,

please reply as soon as possible.

  • Rajat,

Just wanted to let you know that we are working on this and seeing if we can reproduce this on XDS100v1 based boards.

The VID/PID and description all look correct base don what you posted.

    Regards,
    John
  • Hi,

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this here with the same board, same CCS version and same TI Emulators component (Emulation package 8.0.27.9).

I was able to connect to both the UART terminal and the XDS100v2 in any order (UART first, then XDS; XDS first, then UART).

The jumpers and switches are set according to the following:

I send attached my .ccxml file in case any configuration may be off.

    Hope this helps,

    Rafael
